Air Sampling
Employees may be exposed to a variety of airborne contaminants at the work place.  Documenting baseline exposure levels is not only a regulatory requirement, but also makes good legal sense in addition to improving employee morale.  We provide all kinds of employee exposure monitoring and additional assistance with program development and implementation, if necessary.
Noise
Cal/OSHA requires employees to conduct personal noise dosimetry to determine employee exposure to noise.  A baseline noise monitoring data is required for all employee who may be exposed to high noise levels.  If noise exposure is above standards, then employees are required to be enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program.  We can provide employee personal noise monitoring, Hearing Conservation Program development and implementation and other solutions for noise related challenges at your workplace.
Compliance Audits
We can provide in-depth audit of your facility to determine compliance with Cal/OSHA and other applicable regulations.  Based on our extensive experience, we can provide practical and feasible recommendations.  As with all our reports, a copy of our audit report will only be given to you.
Construction Safety Oversight
Every construction project brings its own unique challenges.  We can provide continuous or periodic safety oversight of your construction project to ensure that the general and sub contractors are abiding by relevant local, state, and federal regulations and other industry standards.
Lockout/Tagout
An effective Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program to deal with all known hazards at the workplace is a regulatory requirement.  We can assist with development, and implementation of a practical and effective LOTO program.
Job Hazard Assessment
Conducting a Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) for all tasks in a work place is one of the fundamental requirements of Cal/OSHA's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).  It is also one of the most frequently cited violation by Cal/OSHA.  We can conduct Job Hazard Assessments, and recommend practical and effective approaches to reduce or eliminate the identified hazards.
Personal Protective Equipment Assessment
Conducting initial and periodic assessments of the personal protective equipment (PPE) used (or needs to be used) at a work site is a regulatory requirement.  We can conduct the assessment and provide recommendations that based on our experience are likely to result in increased employee conformance while maintaining comfort and productivity.
Allergen Assessments
Many common materials can cause skin or respiratory system sensitization and develop into an allergy.  These include commonly used enzymes and proteins in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.  Cal/OSHA has established maximum exposure limits for these substances.   We can measure airborne allergens that employees are exposed to.  This improves safety for the employees and reduces liability for the employer.

Wildfire Smoke
Wildfire smoke infiltration into buildings causes discomfort and concerns among employees.  New regulations place significant responsibility on the employer to reduce smoke inhalation.  Quantifying and developing an appropriate response reduces anxiety among employees and establishes regulatory compliance.
Respiratory Fit Testing
If employees are required to use respirators in your work place (including dust masks), then implementation of an effective respiratory protection program is a Cal/OSHA requirement.  This program requires at a minimum, a written respiratory protection program, qualitative or quantitative fit testing of the respirators for each employee, documented training in proper use and care of respirators, and a medical evaluation.  We can provide program development, fit testing, and training for the employees.  We can also assist with the selection of a good medical evaluation outfit.
Program Development, Implementation and Training
We can develop, implement, and provide necessary training for a wide variety of work place challenges related to health and safety.  Some of these include asbestos operations and maintenance plan, job hazard assessments, lockout/tagout assessments, respiratory protection, etc.
Ionizing and Non-ionizing Radiation
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requires periodic testing of all radiation producing equipment including those that use X-rays.  Wipe testing of equipment using sealed radiation sources every six months, and radiation leak testing of equipment that use sealed sources and X-rays every year at a minimum is a regulatory requirement.  In addition, many work places use ultraviolet and infrared radiation in their operations.  We provide cost effective solutions to all of these challenges and requirements.
Exhaust Ventilation Testing and Certification
Laboratory fume hoods, and other forms of ventilation systems to remove hazardous gases have specific face velocity requirements that need to be measured and documented annually per Cal/OSHA.  We provide measurement, and certification of these ventilation systems.
Indoor Air Quality Evaluation
Indoor Air Quality evaluations are recently becoming more important as the work force tends to spend more time indoors.  This combined with less out door air entering the building due to energy efficient buildings magnifies this problem.  We have conducted numerous evaluations and developed successful solutions to these challenges.  We can provide cost effective, practical, and common sense recommendations for these challenges.
Community Noise Testing
Individual cities and counties have specific community noise level standards that need to be met by companies.  We measure and document community noise levels including comparing them to relevant local standards.
Mold (Fungal) Evaluations
Mold in indoor building materials can cause health concerns for employees and is a potential legal liability. We have dealt with numerous mold remediation actions ranging from a leak under the sink to multistory buildings.  We can provide initial evaluations, develop remediation plans, oversee remediation activities, conduct post remediation air sampling for both viable and non-viable fungal spores.  We can also conduct air sampling to document that a space remains unaffected by a recent water incursion episode that was promptly dealt with.
